I’m Louise, hello.
I’m a Communications Coach, Author, Businesswoman, Speaker and Comedian.
People often say, “Tell me a joke.” Which is when I take a deep breath, smile and put down whatever I’m holding and ensure there’s no small children or animals in the vicinity. I’m from Glasgow – makes sense now. I got into comedy because I love making people laugh and I love pushing the barriers and being bold.
I use my 20 years as a stand-up comedian to help individuals and organisations be more confident communicators. I encourage the use of humour to stand-out and engage an audience. I provide the know-how and confidence to win that pitch, raise brand awareness, or highlight a cause.
Why I do what I do?
Life is short! I believe that we should all be able to speak with confidence.
Fear shouldn’t stop you sharing what you’re passionate about, stepping forward for that promotion, or presenting to the board of stakeholders.
I launched Speakeasy Coaching for people who want to be Powerful and Authentic Speakers. I use techniques from the world of comedy to help others create engaging content and deliver it with confidence and style.
Over the last ten years I’ve empowered many through 1-2-1 and group coaching for clients like EDF, Amex, Brighton University and Natwest. I’ve created personal and professional coaching programmes for executives, leaders, and entrepreneurs. My aim is to provide an excellent balance of inspiration, theory and practical advice that will stick with you well after my talk or coaching has ended.
I founded Brighton Comedy Course in 2010. For over a decade, I’ve created a space for people to relax, breathe and be funny. Confidence is the key ingredient to bring out your comedy genius. We’ve had hundreds attend the beginners’ courses and the comedy weekenders in Brighton and Barcelona.
I’m particularly proud of writing, How to be a Comedian and Smash your First Gig, and The New Comedians Handbook which were published by Funny Bones Publishing in 2020 (a rare upside of covid.)
