Seneca is on a mission to empower young students to overcome barriers in their life by using Sports, Hip hop, Inspiration and Poetry (SHIP) to ensure college and career readiness and success.
As one of the most entertaining and effective speakers/performers, Seneca Wilson wants to help Turn On Your Light. Wilson understands that direction is just as important to success as environment. Every opportunity to inspire how a young person thinks and feels is an obligation. He addresses the need to acknowledge, know, and bravely believe that the next steps are possible. He engages audiences knowing that there is strength and hope in their stories. He also loves learning. For the last 12 years Wilson has been leading change, facilitating, managing and developing youth to overcome adversity in their lives. Seneca has overcome many barriers in his life, and wants to provide young people with the necessary tools and skills for their success. He feels right at home in the company of curious minds and ambitious future leaders. He works to provoke others to action, to leave a lasting impression and to help others inspire to a higher level of understanding and confidence.
Seneca Wilson currently lives in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife, Meghan and three children, Tylan, Declan and Sloane. Wilson has released his new book TURN ON YOUR LIGHT Finding the Light Within in Novemeber 2020. In 2007, Wilson published his first book of poetry, Kind of a One, and in 2016, Wilson published his second book of poetry, Stairs to The Top. Seneca holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees, is a Toastmaster and a dynamic presenter committed to helping others be great.
