I started my Financial Services career in 1982 with Tyndall Bank Bristol and later formed my own company, Langan Associates in 1984.
In 1992 I accepted an invite to join the J Rothschild Partnership, as a founding partner.
In April 1997, the J. Rothschild Assurance Group effectively achieved a reverse takeover of St. James’s Place Capital, thereby securing a public listing on the London Stock Exchange.
In October, the company changed its name from J. Rothschild Assurance to St. James’s Place.
I resigned as the focus on the company changed to drive share price which in my view put the shareholder as a higher priority than the clients. This did not mirror my views therefore we relocated to Spain and launched the Stein Investment & Business Model.
