Your schedule or theirs?

If you have children at school (little or big), this time of year can seem like the calendar just leaves NO room for you to do anything on or in your business! Suddenly the plays, the fete’s, the fundraising and the ferrying to parties and rehearsals increases.

It’s likely that your work will end up squeezed around all the visits, watching and shows that are being put on. We’re reminding you to make room for the essentials this month, as really, there’s always less time than you think to work on things in December.

We recommend you strip back to the main activities only, as so much of the time, you’ll find that even if YOU have the space and time for work, those you serve, support or work with will fall prey to the demands of the ‘Christmas rounds’.

To avoid disappointment, just book in the regular things you know need to happen, and double and triple confirm meetings — and make sure you have some fall back work just in case meetings don’t happen.

In fact, where you can, book in time to work on that stuff you know needs your attention — the tidying up behind the scenes, the writing of that new idea into a lead magnet. Nothing that the world needs urgently, but stuff that you might find useful to make progress on.

December’s scheduling needs might just end up being great for you if you approach it consciously!
